The Story and Songs of Sandwich

Sandwich Pinoy Band is one of the leading bands in field of local rock bands. It is one of the hard rock bands in the Philippines since 1998. They preserved their trademark of energetic performance.

They were consist of 5 members. While Raimund Marasigan was still in Eraserheads, he formed another band together with Diego Castillo with the intention of working. Raimund is with the vocals and sometimes with guitars while Diego focuses on guitars only. They both recruited member for the completion of their band. Myrene Academia is for the bass, Mike Dizon of Teeth for the drums and Marc Abaya (left on 2005) was discovered by Raimund while jamming with the Beastie Boys.

Though Eraserheads still exists at that time, Raimund’s new band was proved to be heavier when it come to music and was able to established his own fan base. He still occasionally performed with Eraserheads if ever there were absent.

They made contract with BMG-Records, commonly called Sony-BMG Music nowadays. They released their debut album entitled Grip, Stand, Throw with its carries, Butterfly Carnival and other hits like Maybe and R2D2. Due to its impressive performance, the band won 3 awards in 1999.
