Rocksteddy is a Filipino band of alternative rock. Their music is being tagged as “happy rock”. The band started on March 2003 and still in existence until this very day under 12 Stone Records. The band is composed of Jeff Cucullo, Christian Sindico, Juven Pelingon, Jowi Ramos and Teddy Corpuz.
Actually the band was formed in 1999 as ”Acoustic Faith”. The said band was composed of only three members and focuses on playing inspirational songs for years. Eventually, the feeling of transcending to alternative rock in order to be heard by more audiences took over. A new name indicates a new start. This five-man band called themselves “Rocksteady” for a mean time but another group was already using the name so they settled with Rocksteddy, changing teady to Teddy’s name. Teddy Corpuz is the band’s lead vocalist. He is seen together with Richard Gutierrez in “Sugo”, a GMA program. Christian Sandico is the bassist. He is the original bassist of Acoustic Faith. Jowi Ramos deals with the Rhythm guitars and also acted as back-up vocals. Juven Pelingon is the lead guitarist and the drummer is Jeff Cucullo.
They still incorporate religion and God in their style of alternative rock. Their style is simply truthful and unadulterated thus inviting everyone to sing with them, listen and experience total different waves of love songs. Some of the songs were infused with Christianity such as Gising Na which was taken from Corinthians. Different themes such as love, camaraderie and relationship are evident in songs such as Tara, Super Nova, Bale Wala, Kung Wala Na Tayo, Playing Safe etc.
