Panalangin by moonstar88
They begin like most of the Indie bands. They submitted a CD as demo to different recording companies. Alpha Records is but one company who took them. The band actually has no name before. Before performing a gig, they choose Moonstar, one of their master name lists. 88 is their performer number thus Moonstar88 was finalized. It has grown from just mere band members into a fully- bonded band due to experiences in and outside the road.
Presently, 2 albums were released by Alpha RecordsPopcorn and Press to Play, and a collaborated track namely Pag-Ibig Ko Sa Iyo, that can be found in the RoK On! Music by Ragnarok Online. Another rendition of Panalangin by APO was made slow and light by the above- mentioned band that can be found in the Kami Napo Muna album as their contribution.
Change of line-up took place after the release of 2 major albums. Everybody thought that the band behind famous hits like Torete, Sulat and Sa Langit would stay to their present stardom. But they challenged themselves and proceed to Sony BMG Records in spite of the success gained in songwriting and playing.
Moonstar88 is the most recent addition to the roster of Sony- BMG Records. They came to a suitable title Todo Combo as their third full-length album sponsored by Sony- BMG Records. Their single includes Tadhana, a fresh soundtrack.
From them emerged a fresh and positive perspective to songs but retained band’s trademark sound such as Tadhana, Can’t Stop, Migraine and their much-lauded version of APO classic Panalangin. Tracks such as Di Kasi, Late Ka Na Naman, Bintana, and their YANO remake –Senti.
