About Miguel Escueta

Miguel Escueta is a Filipino passionate performer. He established a niche for himself in the music scene as he won the first runner-up of 89.9 Acoustic Break Competition on 2003.

Miguel Escueta can do lot of stuffs outside music territory. During high school and college, he used to be an ace basketball player and included in different varsity teams. He is also a degree holder in Business Management in Communication Technology from Ateneo de Manila University.

His musical inclination started way back on his teenage years. He picked up his guitar and started to fall in love with music. To show what he got, Miguel joined ”Magic 89.9’s Acoustic Break Competition” on 2003. He finally ended as first runner-up only. With this breakthrough, Miguel unknowingly carved a niche in the music scene. He lives with a motto “Vivite Somnia”, the Latin term for “Live Your Dreams.”

Even though his singing is blossoming, he hold back to finish his degree. But like any other true love, his passion for music dominated his desire. Miguel picked his guitar again and transformed from acoustic sound into a full band sound.

It was only a matter of time before Ricky Ilacad, a MCA bigwig took notice. He broke into the local music scene as he released on 2007 his debut album. This pop-rock album of MCA Music was entitled I Am M.E.. It was launched at the Eastwood Central Plaza on November 16 of the year. He cheered the crowd of family, friends and fans.. During the launching, Miguel performed his singles from the album and aroused the fans by his splendid rendition songs of favorite artists.

Miguel is gaining respective amount of fans especially girls and women. It is not hard to accept that Miguel indeed is a cute guy with his boyish grin that drives every woman crazy.

“Falling Away”, the first single off the album received heavy airplay on different radio stations and also his follow-up single, “Isipin”. Its music videos are visible on MYX and MTV. Miguel reigns as the month’s (November) MTV’s Neeed To Know Artist. He also appeared on radio programs and did mall tours.

With his radio-friendly pop-rock songs, intense vocals and excellent lyrics, Miguel carved a bigger name for himself in OPM scene. He believed that lyrics are the heart of every songs in which he is very proud of. His lyrics are drawn from real-life experiences, whether of his own or from his friends.

On his rendition of “Let It Be” of Beatles, Miguel earned nomination at the prestigious Awit Awards 2005.

Only at 24, Miguel’s music career is busier that ever. On 2008, he released under MCA Music his double-disc album dubbed as Am M.E.: Amplified. Compared to former release, this album contained tracks which are heavier, edgier and stronger as it now focuses on the rock side. Known tracks from the album included Just Like Heaven of The Cure and Blue Monday of New Order. Its carrier single, Handa, has been on top of the charts all over.
