Martha Joy

Bio, Albums, Songs and Lyrics - OPM Filipino Music

Short Bio of Martha Joy

Martha Joy Lim-Fiuza is half-Filipino, half-Portugese singer, recording artists, dancer and host in the Philippines. She is more inclined to do pop and with her Barbra Streisand voice-alike, she can hit high notes and even enjoyed belting challenging pieces with soaring melodies.

A breed of Asian and Latin parentage, Martha Joy was born on December 8, 1990 at Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her half-Filipino and half-Portuguese descent in 5’7” stature makes her and her beauty quite breathtaking. She can sing several languages like English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Tagalog.

Her mother, knowing Martha’s exemplary singing ability decided to hone her daughter’s skills by seeking the best available vocal coaches in Toronto. This indeed gave Martha the capacity to sing almost all songs and the endurance needed for her entire musical career.

Martha Joy already wowed the audiences with her voice. Even on her early eleventh, she already won two separate awards of September 2003 Best New Talent Awards in L.A. at the Century Plaza Hotel.

Aside from winning trophies of numerous singing competitions, her performances in solo outside and inside Toronto were among of her juvenile proud moments. These include her performances during the United Nations Global Peace Initiative in Geneva, the Mike Bullard Show on CTA and the Canadian National Anthem for games of Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.

Her biggest break since was when she auditioned for Canadian Idol, the country’s most watched reality talent TV show on 2007. She made it to become one of the Top Ten Finalists and currently on her 16th year, she was the youngest of them all. She was ranked only the 8th placer among her contenders.

Though she has numerous breaks to support her application for show business, it was in the Canadian Idol big doors were opened for her. This helped Martha to seriously pursue a music career.

On February 2008, Martha signed an exclusive recording deal with renowned music label, Viva Records. Her debut album entitled Martha Joy was set to public on February of 2009.

Christian Walden produced the album. Composed mainly of original compositions, Dumating Ka of Jimmy Borja, one of the track lists, was her first released single.
