Josh SantanaThe Story of Josh SantanaJosh Santana is a Filipino singer and actor. He is garnered the title as ”Prince of Songs” and a multi-media artist in TV, music and film icons. He is recognized for his role in Bituin and was lucky enough to have been chosen. He stands 5’6” and weighed 125 pounds. Josh show business’ history originated with the boy group, “Boyztown”. He gave in to the enticement of television after the disbandment of Boyztown. He was offered a cameo role in the film “Kung Ikaw Ay Isang Panaginip”, a Star Cinema romance-comedy flick starring Jolina Magdangal. He also appeared as guest in the teen show, “Berks” as well as in ASAP, Eat Bulaga and Cinema One. His big break came when he played lead male role as a popular and highly successful recording artist in the teleserye “Bituin”. His role served as his jumpstart in his singing career. After his successful stint in Bituin, he assigned to sing Basta’t Kasama Kita. The song was used as theme song of the TV series of the same title starring Judy Ann Santos and Robin Padilla. Star Records saw his potentials and launched him as a solo recording artist through a three-in-one male compilation ”Solo” together with Divo Bayer, MTB Star Quest 2002 and King, the brother of Soul Siren Nina. He was given the freedom to choose songs for his album and performed with his own style. From the album, he released ballads like Ikaw Lang Pala and the tagalog version of Can’t Help Fallin, as his first singles. The album reached its Gold status. Can’t Help Fallin was used as theme song of the popular Meteor Garden. Officially garnered the title as ”Prince of Songs”, Josh established a fan base that would accept his own recordings with same passion as they have the Solo album and his TV career. He maintained his sunny disposition and pleasant personality in spite of his hectic schedules, balancing school with his career. He was never seen with frown in his face or in rare occasions if ever. He focused his studies in FEU taking AB majoring in English. After a short hiatus in show business, he made a comeback to pursue his other dream. He recently released his self-titled album, ”Josh Santana” under Star Records. It possessed 10 diverse tracks, showcasing what Josh is all about. The album contained songs ranging from romantic ballads to R&B flavoured tracks, from med-tempo easy listening tracks to upbeat and danceable ones. Songs included were Di Ko Kaya, Nasa’n Ka, Maibabalik Ko Ba, Ikaw Lang Pala, Muli, Pagka’t Sa Pangarap, Mahal Naman Kita, Can’t Help Fallin and Mahal Na Mahal. Multi-awarded and famous album producer/songwriter Jonathan Manalo produced the album. The first single, Di Ko Kaya hit the waves on radio and instantly made it to the top charts. Connie Macatuno, renowned television and music video director managed the music video of the song. Albums
