Jolina Magdangal

The Story of Jolina Magdangal

Maria Jolina Perez Magdangal is much known as ”Jolina Magdangal” or ”Jolens” as other called her. She is a multi-talented Filipino artist. This 5-feet tall singer is of good quality, a good actress and an excellent host. She’s a fashion icon and an effective commercial model and endorser of different products and services. Jolens has her inspiration from the likes of Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Tori Amos, Alanis Morisette, Babyface, Bjork, The Beattles and Chris Zarcensky.

She was born on November 6, 1978 in St. Luke Hospital, Quezon City, Philippines. Her father Generoso “Jun” Magdangal Jr. and her mother Paulette Perez-Magdangal lived together with two other siblings Melanie and Jonathan Magdangal. Her exposure started unintentionally when her parents let her audition for Ryan Cayabyab’s musical group, “14-K”. Luckily, she was accepted and polished her talents as singing, dancing, acting etc.

Johnny Manahan spotted Jolina in their last performance and asked her to guest sitcom “Mana”. When found with potential, she was asked to join “ANG TV”. It took a better turn, changed her life and became famous. She was featured in different TV programs and movies. She became as regular cast of Abangan Ang Susunod Na Kabanata, ‘Sang Linggo nAPo Sila, Onli In Da Pilipins, ASAP, Richard Loves Lucy etc. Her mainstay in “ASAP” where she displayed her singing and dancing talents as well as her hosting ability were enhanced. Her concerts here and abroad were filled with people proving her popularity and credibility among them. Her “JOLINA MANIA concert” at Araneta Coliseum was a successful one. Her bankability as a recording artist is undisputable since her platinum albums have confirmed it and the different awards she received.

Jolina is a listener rather than a talker. She is one of the few showbiz personalities who maintained her good reputation intact and avoid intrigues as much as possible. Jolens is an entrepreneur by heart. Since she’s a fashion icon, she invested and established Jolina’s Gallery Shop and her own boutique.
