Short Biography of DJ Durano

DJ Durano is a Filipino actor, model, singer and recording artist. He flourished as an actor and model with his good looks and appealing physique plus with his soothing vocals inspired by Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald, he is on his way to be one of the country’s seasoned artists.

DJ Durano’s real name is Thaddeus Durano Jr., named after his father, the ex-mayor of Cebu who recently died from Lung cancer. His father and mother separated and the three children including DJ were shouldered by their mother. DJ met his father’s second family during the wake of his father but tension arises between the two parties.

DJ Durano is a parent of two, who single-handedly raised a daughter and a son. He has his annulment papers and now dating a non-showbiz girl. Though he wanted to court a girl in showbiz, he doesn’t want living in complications.

DJ’s early career in entertainment started as part of That’s Entertainment of German Moreno. During the show, he is termed as the lady killer and obviously, it is true. He was linked with Rufa Mae Quinto but their relationship did not last long.

Since his teens, DJ found an extreme passion for music and acted as the lead vocalist of many bands like “Intense”, “Musik Jive”, “Frontline” and “Next Level”. These experiences enable him to be familiar with different music genres thus honing his musical skills to the utmost level.

At mid-90’s, DJ left for States as he does not want to pursue a career as a sexy actor and it would be foolish to compete with the likes of Leandro Baldemore and Anton Bernardo who then are the popular sizzling actors.

On his comeback, he was visible in the music circuit as the front man of the band, Next Level for three years. It was Wenn Deramas who was able to convince him to return to the spotlight. His big breaks include Marina and Kampanerang Kuba.

Wenn Deramas assumed responsibility over DJ and he makes sure he’ll receive proper projects for him. He is now more visible in boobtube than ever. Despite his busy schedule in his flourishing acting career, he never turned his back on his passion on singing and performing. He would sometimes jam with his band and friends.

During one of his impromptu performance, Wenn Deramas was impressed in the displayed talent of DJ and recommended him to take a real serious career in singing. Now embarking a solo career as recording artist, DJ’s dream to be on top is fast becoming a reality.

His debut album entitled Ako Lang Ang Nagmamahal under Ballyhood Records was released on 2007, containing 12 tracks. With his soothing vocals, it brought magic to every song he sings and backed up with his experiences and self-confidence.

Upon the release of his album, DJ Durano is now included in the roster of legitimate Filipino recording artist. And with his swooning physique and good looks, he could rightfully claim the title as the next Kilabot Ng Kolehiyala, the title once garnered by the legendary Hajji Alejandro.
