After the dissolution of The Eraserheads in 2002, bassist Buddy Zabala and drummer Raymund Marasigan decided they didn't want to just sit around and rest on their laurels. Instead they saw this as an opportunity to get together and create fresh music with a new generation of rock musicians that they greatly admired.
Cambio- Lahat (live)
First up on the wish-list was Kris Gora-Dancel who honed her chops fronting long-time all-female band Fatal Posporos. Kris founded, composed, played guitar and sang for the Posporos, who released a major label album in 2000.
Next up on the roster is singer-guitarist Diego Mapa. A dynamic advocate of the local independent scene, Diego sings and plays for the group Monsterbot. He's also dabbles in electronica and film scoring, has acted on TV, produces underground concerts, and now also runs an independent music store with friends.
Last to join the group is singer-guitarist Ebe Dancel. A familiar voice among music fans, Ebe founded rock's latest breakthrough artists, Sugarfree, for whom he writes, sings and plays guitar as well. And so Cambio was formed.
The group immediately set out to write new songs, and in no time amassed an album's worth of new music. Most of 2003 was spent touring the new material, recording the album on their own, and releasing an independent, limited edition 5-song ep. By the end of the year, Cambio had grown into a tight unit with a vibrant live show and a buzz around club hits like "DV" and "Patlang". Universal Records signed the band in early 2004, while the debut album DERBY LIGHT is slated for an April release. "DV" is its first single and video.
Combining the experience, drive, exuberance, energy and talent of their individual musical careers, Kris, Diego, Ebe, Buddy and Raymund are now ready to shift into high gear, and make their mark as Cambio.
