Very well known for his trademarks, April has his own trademark swagger, crossed arms and cap. This cannot be duplicated by any and he captured the hearts of the aficionados. No wonder, he is dubbed as the ”Idol Ng Masa”. April Boy Regino is Caloocan native. Born in the railroad side shanty, April is the fourth sibling of eight of Regino and Lucena Bariso Regino. At an early age of ten, he became the family’s breadwinner. Possessing an exceptional talent, April Boy decided to join almost all amateur singing contests there. Since then, he never stopped improving his talents. In fact, he went to Japan to nurture his God-given talents. He became famous through April Boys as one of the sibling trio on mid 90’s. Eventually, he pursued to a solo career in which he is very successful. Aside from being just a singer, April Boy Regino also experimented himself as a composer. His first composition was “Sana’y Laging Magkapiling” which was dedicated and written especially for Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Conception whose love team was the favorite during the time. Various recording companies dismissed his composition and any of them did not dare took the risk. Her mother came to the scene and supported her son. She produced the song for April Boy. In a short extent, the song, Sana’y Laging Makapiling received a Gold Record award and went on to Platinum. Destiny, luck and of course talent have to say in the unparallel success of April Boy Regino. Through this, he was brought back to the mainstream where he rightfully belongs. With apparent evidence of his fame during the time, he was considered as the Platinum Star then as the Jukebox King. His songs remained in the hearts of the listeners in which no other artists can remind you of. His concerts and shows continue to sell and he is no other than as the New Idol of the Masses or simply “Idol”. He unquestionably captured the hearts of the Filipino people and worthily called as the Idol Ng Masa by his followers. For through this year, April Boy has quenched us from the thirst of sappy and sentimental love songs such as Sana Ay Mahalin Mo Rin Ako, Di Ko Na Kayang Tanggapin, Paano Ang Puso Ko, Naghihinayang Ako, Esperanza, Muling Ibalik Ang Tamis Ng Pag-ibig etc. He is back and now, with all-new persona and joined the likes of Lito Camo, the master novelty composer. His latest album was released under Star Records entitled Ang Tunay Na Idol on 2004. The album boasts ten tracks and headlined by an irresistible danceable ditty as Ye...Ye...Vonnel. The song dominated the airwaves and surely, a dance craze for the new generation. Aside from the single, the album also produces love songs which April Boy himself was known for. Album
