All at once alternative rock and pop, X-Axis's blending of these styles is apparent on all 12 tracks that make up their first album. All at once alternative rock and pop, X-Axis’s blending of these styles is apparent on all 12 tracks that make up their album. For their first single, the band calls on the JB Mendoza penned original "Labo" to banner their album. "Its basically our version of a break-up song" explains lead singer Paul. "It was written by JB and it’s about him having a hard time with a relationship". Though relatively new in the music industry, most of the band members have been around as practicing musicians working behind the scenes. Jinno Mendoza is an ace studio guitarist who has done sessions for several labels before joining as lead guitarist and Paul Arroyo is a session vocalist before both joined on as members for X-Axis. While self-styled record man and drummer Patrick Calleja has been into music since he first purchased his own drum kit at a young age, to date, he has several drum kits in his collection. The drummer is said to have thought of the band name X–Axis while bassist Sherwin Gulla is supposed to have thought of the album title Abscissa, the bands moniker, and album title, an obvious mathematic reference, because the former is into sci-fi and the former a licensed civil engineer. JB Mendoza meanwhile is a songwriter, the youngest from a musically-inclined family, while by day is a computer programmer. Add a New Artist Profile
