She is recognized in the Philippine music scene as Marinel Santos or simply Marinel. As one of the contestants for Star In A Million 1, she joined the likes of Erik Santos and Sheryn Regis. Among her influences are the likes of Lani Misalucha and Christina Aguilera. Marinel Santos was a blessing from heaven to Angelo and Vivian Santos, her father and mother. She saw the light of the world on October 26, 1985 in San Pablo, Laguna. She is with her other sibling, Angela Santos. She studied in schools like Canossa College, Letran College in Calamba, Laguna Colleges and San Pablo College. She took AB English as her college course. Truly, Marinel was a gift from God. Aside from her immense talents, with her unique aura and an ala Christina-Lani voice, never fail to capture the listener’s attention. She is destined to be a star. Accordingly, Marinel started singing at 6 and in an early age, she already attended and joined several local competitions. She was even awarded as “Best Female Performer” on one of the events. Aside from singing, she was known for her acting skills and among her first exposure in television was way back on 1995 when she joined “Little Miss Mega” of ABS-CBN. Like any other artists, this singer wanted to make a big break in showbusiness and to be recognized by many. With encouragements from friends and her loving family, this was possible. She knows where she belongs and what she possesses. A career in music gained more favourable for her and she enjoyed what she is doing. Everything is so perfect for this imminent diva. With hard work and confidence, she joined Star In A Million Season 1, a highly-rated show of ABS-CBN. This step made her closer to her dreams. Marinel showcased her talent in front of live audiences, performing and competing with other contenders as Erik Santos and Sheryn Regis. She had proved to everybody what a diva in a making is. During her stay in the contest, she was dubbed as “The Next Concert Diva”. Though she failed to grab the most coveted Grand prize, being one of the finalists is such of great honor for her. After Star In A Million, Marinel continued shining and made a mark in the music scene. She was tapped to sing the theme song of ABS-CBN’s fantaserye, “Krystala”. The song was entitled “Sa Pangarap Na Lang” and made it to the top of the charts. In addition to her credit, she sang the theme song of It Might Be You with Star In A Million Champion, Erik Santos as well as the song of ABS-CBN’s Victim. On 2004, Marinel signed a recording contract with Star Records and was launched into mainstream as solo artist together with other uprising young artists. She recorded an album with other exemplary singers Aliya Parcs, Karel Marquez and Maoui David. The album was named Singles and each has four songs with respective genres. Her songs include “Pangako”, “‘Till The End Of Forever”, “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” and “Paano”. Album
