Manny Pacquiao was from Kibawe, Bukidnon, Philippines and was born on December 17, 1978. Now, he is living in General Santos, South Cotabatoo, Philippines with his wife, Jinky Pacquiao and 4 children. Since childhood, he already engaged in boxing-type activities until he became commited with it and started professional boxing at 16. His decision of pursuing boxing career was prodded by the death of his close friend, Mark Penaflorida. From small, unrecognized boxing venues, Manny Pacquaio made it to the big ring after winning several heavyweights contenders. But like any other boxers, Pacquaio as well experiencing losses and disadvantages. His big break first came on 2001 when he fought the Bantamweight champion Lehlohonolo Ledwaba and defeated him thus becoming the IBF Bantamweight Champion. And since then, several knockouts he had made, bringing pride and honor in his country, Philippines. During one of his fights on 2006, Manny Pacquiao under Star Records released his debut album featuring himself as the singer. The album was entitled Para Sa’Yo Ang Laban Na’To containing the same title single of the album. In the ten-track album, Manny manifested his inclination to singing and Star Records helped him in this really different field from that of boxing. The album was not a loss as it was followed by another album entitled Pac-Man Punch with 4 tracks only on 2007 under MCA-Universal Records. All songs were originals written and featured Nemesis Yankee in most songs. Aside from releasing an album and becoming a recording artist, Manny Pacquaio also penetrated the big screen and appeared in several shows like Pinay Records and Totoy Bato. There are even plans of collaboration between Sylvester Stallone and Manny Pacquiao but still on the process of agreement. And if ever it will be finalized, it will be his big break in American audience and in American mainstream. In this connection, with his fame and recognitions around the country, he is in demand of several product endorsements. Manny Pacquiao is also a politician though lost in the election. However, he is planning to pursue politics after retirement of his boxing career which will not take much time. Manny Pacquiao might not be again releasing an album but let the doors be open for further opportunities. He is the country’s pride and worthy to be proud of. Despite the hurts and wins and negative issues, Manny remained faithful and steadfast with his creator above.
