All About Ciara Sotto

Ciara Anna Gamboa Sotto is a Filipina singer, host, comedienne, and actress. She is popularly in television especially in Eat Bulaga! as Ciaro Sotto.

Ciara Sotto was born on July 2, 1980 in Makati City, Philippines. She is the youngest daughter of Helen Gamboa and a former senator, Tito Sotto. Her father is a Cebuano-Chinese descent and her mother has a Kapampangan-Spanish blood. She stands 5’3”.

Ciara Sotto started to dance at the age of 6 and began singing at the age of 10. She made her first exposure on Eat Bulaga! at the age of 6. She became a permanent personality for the show at the age of 17.

Prior to her permanent stay in Eat Bulaga!, she was included in the rosters of talents for GMA Network and Viva Television’s teen-oriented drama entitled “T.G.I.S”. She also had a regular Saturday production number in “Eat Bulaga!”, together with Danica Sotto and Jocas de Leon. The trio was dubbed as “Ang TVJ Kids” or “Tito, Vic and Joey” Kids. During her stay in Eat Bulaga, she was likely linked with Paolo Ballesteros and two are dubbed “CiaPao”.

Ciara started doing films. On 1996, she appeared in the movie, T.G.I.S. The Movie and participated in Sumigaw Ka Hanggang Gusto Mo the following year. She filmed a comedy one named Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin. On 2004, she was in the movie, Minsan, Minahal Kita. She was included in the cast of Spirit Of The Glass and Enteng Kabisote 3.

In relation her singing career, Ciara Sotto released first album under Viva Records in 1996. The album was dubbed Dalagita. On 1998, her sophomore album was aired, dubbed as Ciara I Love You under the same label.

She recorded her third album and released on 2004, now under BMG Records. The album bore her name as the title. It was followed by another recording on 2005 named The Way of Love.

On 2008, she released her latest album dubbed as If You Love Me. Accordingly, she was involved in all the aspects of the album production. The album contained songs written by her father together with Joey de Leon and Vic Sotto. The album was produced and distributed by Sony BMG Music.

Recently, Ciara Sotto was tapped to sing the Philippine Anthem during the second fight of Pacquio and Marquez. She received good reviews for her version of Lupang Hinirang.
