The Story of Ai Ai de las AlasAileen de las Alas is a Filipino comedienne, an actress, a singer, recording artist and a concert performer. She is a favourite comedy personality as simple Ai-Ai de las Alas. Including in her list of names; she is often times called ”Tanging Ina”, ”The Concert Queen”, ”Blockbuster Queen” and was even dubbed as ”The Folk Arts Theatre Queen”. With the release of her hit album, she was considered ”Queen of the Airwaves” also. Ai-Ai de las Alas was born was born on year 1964. She was formerly married to a Miguel Vera with 3 children. Some of her initial exposure was being a host in Music Box. She then has filmed several shows such as Romeo and Juliet, Koronang Itim, Separada, Bitoy and Itawag Mo Sa Akin and Booba. Garnering the ”Queen of Comedy”, she received approval in public in partaking several hit comedy shows. Shows like Ai-Vira, Ilonggated Chin, Ai-Ai Saw Papa Kissing Santa Claus and Sister Act gained her praises and garnered good reviews. Aside from acting, she also hosted several shows. Among them were “Show And Tell”, “Actually Yun Na”, “Luch Date” and “Golympics”. She received several awards in different shows like “Ibang Klase” with Joey de leon, “143” with Vic Sotto and Rosanna Roces and “Singgaling” with Alan K. ABS-CBN’s shows such as Ariba-Ariba, Wattamen and MTB honed her hosting prowess. On her 10th anniversary celebration, she held her sold-out concert at Folk Arts Theatre in 1998. The concert was named Ai Ai... Respect Me! and affirmed her title as ”The Comedy Concert Queen”. The following year on November, SRO Concert Seduct Me was held in Folk Arts Theatre and was followed by Abuse Me concert in November 2000 which garnered her yet another title- as ”The Folk Arts Theatre Queen”. She took care of her title as Comedy Concert Queen which was proven again in her concert at Araneta Coliseum in December 2001. The concert was dubbed Out Of This World Na Me, Araneta Kasi. Her movie “Ang Tanging Ina” on 2003 was a blockbuster hit thus garnering the title as Blockbuster Queen. The comedy movie eventually became a TV series. She was also featured in movies like Pinay Pie and Pakners on the same year. Another blockbuster movie hit the screen, following the footsteps of Tanging Ina. She was starred in “Volta” as Volta herself on 2004. On 2005, she hosted ETK (Entertainment Konek) and played in “Shake, Rattle and Roll 2k5”. Ai Ai also possessed good voice and this was discovered by Star Records. Signed with the label, she released her debut hit album entitled ”Tanging Ina Nyo” on 2004. The album featured 6 novelty songs including the song Tanging Ina Nyo, which became an anthem for mothers. The single became a favourite among radio listeners and deejays. The song was written by no other than, Mr. Lito Camo. Aside from the said single, it also contained songs of humor like Volta, Dance-phabet, ‘Tong Twalya, Si Manloloko and Super Papa. On 2006, she was starred in another comedic movie with Bong Revilla entitled “Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso (Not Once But Twice)”. She appeared in Bituing Walang Ningning with Sarah Geronimo, Super Inggo and Love Spell on the same year. On 2007, she filmed “Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo” and “Pasukob”. She was visible in ASAP ’07 and Princess Sarah. The TV series of Volta is aired this 2008 and on the movie, “Ikaw Pa Rin”. Albums Awards- Best Comedy Actress- Ibang Klase, Star Awards for TV 1998
